about andrew

Since the completion of his Industrial Design Degree at RMIT in 1992, Andrew's career maintained a creative path working in a range of industries including events, television, trades exhibitions, museums and art galleries.

Andrew spent five years working in the trade exhibitions industry as a designer, project and account manager. During this time he worked with a huge variety of companies exhibiting in trade exhibitions across Australia and Internationally. The fast pace of this industry insisted he hone his skills as a creative thinker and problem solver.

From 2009 until mid 2017 Andrew was employed at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery in Launceston, Tasmania. For the majority of this time he managed the Exhibition department across both sites. Included in this role was the responsibility for the design and project management of all major internal exhibitions.

The Exhibitions department included Conservation, Graphic Design, IT, Photography and Production. Managing these disciplines gave Andrew a valuable understanding and insight into their contributions to Museum exhibitions and displays. In this management role he took on the responsibility for a team of 13 and the department's finances.

Andrew is a keen sailor, having competed in two Sydney Hobart yacht races and a Melbourne Hobart race. He is a volunteer fire fighter in his rural community north of Launceston. Drawing is something Andrew loves. He has been part of the "Such is Life" drawing group for around eight years.
